One of the ways that it 'pays' to purchase your corset from ROMANTASY has to do with pre-purchase education that we provide to ensure against wrong and wasteful choices in style, figure silhouette, and maker. Why do we stress pre-purchase education and advise patience in the process of selecting and designing your corset? Take a close look at the photos of a client wearing two different styles of gorgeous underbust corsets, one by team member Jade Locke, and one by team member Sharon McCoy Morgan/Altered Tyme Corsetry (we have five sterling and highly experienced corsetieres on our team!). Note the stunningly distinct figure silhouettes that each corset creates when each is worn by the client. The reasons for this difference are multiple, including the style and specific patterning of the corset, the type, weave and weight of fabric, inner-facing, and lining, construction techniques and preferences of the particular corsetiere, weight, width, amount, and thickness of boning, and other. Not only does each corset look different, but each feels differently when worn on the body. Client preferences are individual and there are no easy answers as to what is 'right' for you, but we provide 20 questions you may consider to help us guide you to the proper choice -- for you! It truly 'pays' clients to take their time and do a wee bit of advance corset homework for their own benefit to ensure correct choices according to their individual artistic preferences, budget, and overall needs. We can meet you for an in-person Corset Salon and consultation in San Francisco, or when on the road. For example, nearly every Sept. we journey to Atlanta. In 2010 will be driving across the country to lecture on corsets there, proceeding east thru northern Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and into Atlanta and driving back west by the southern route two weeks later. We can meet clients along the way. In addition, we provide detailed email consultation for those with more specific and detailed needs, but are always happy to provide basic initial advice with no obligation. |
