Please note that as recognized by Police Chief Gascon on Dec. 21 in the SF Examiner report, crime is under-reported, some of it substantially underreported. JANUARY 2010 - 10 crimes

Jan 16 - 100 blk of Randall 4:55 pm, Warrant Arrest - The officers located the victim and the suspect. The victim told the officers that she was walking home when she noticed the suspect smoking at a corner. The suspect greeted the victim and the victim smiled and continued on her way home. The victim told the officer s that when she reached her home she was surprised to see that the suspect had followed her. The officers conducted a warrant check and discovered that he suspect had an outstanding warrant worth $5,000 for theft. The suspect was arrested. Report number 091230822

Jan 15 - 200 blk of Arlington 9 pm, Search Warrant Service-Officers Hurwitz and Daggett had a search warrant signed by a superior court judge. The officers responded to the address with numerous other units. The officers gave knock and notice but no one opened the door. The officers made entry and discovered a suspect sitting inside the home. The fact that the suspect did not respond to the knock and notice he was immediately subject to arrest for delaying sec 148 click link (

Jan. 12
  1. Chenery/Whitney 11:3- a,m Theft from Vehicle - The victim said that she came out to her car, which had been parked in the street overnight, to find that it had been broken into. The victim’s car stereo and iPod were taken along with some other items. Report number 100037111
  2. 100 blk of Monterey 2:30 pm, Hot Prowl Burglary- The victim told the officer that two suspects (females) came to her door and asked for her help. The victim was lead to believe that one of the women was pregnant and needed boiling water. The victim told the officer that she found it odd that the pregnant woman looked to be 70 years old, but boiled the water while both suspects were inside her home. One suspect kept the victim occupied while the other went on to the rest of the house stealing things. The case is under investigation. Report number 100015797
  3. 2900 block Diamond 3:07 pm, Battery - The victim said that while she was sitting on the ground and talking on her phone, she got into an argument with someone coming out of the store. She said that the suspect drove away, but she saw the car out of the corner of her eye make a U-turn. The suspect then ran up to her and kicked her in the head. The suspect then fled the scene. Jan 11 - Glen Park Vandalism - A swastika was placed on the wall of the Glen Park Recreation Center. This has been a repeated incident. The last hate graffiti placed on the building was over a month ago. We are keeping a close eye on this area and we now have officers specifically assigned to patrol the parks at night. Please report suspicious activity right away. We would like to catch the person(s) responsible for this vandalism!

Jan 10 - 100 blk of Elk 7 am,Vandalism -Officer Gardiner was contacted by US Park Ranger Koel advising that someone had vandalized a building on their property. The officer took photos and the case is under investigation. Report number 100032309

Jan 7
- 200 blk of Arlington 3:46 pm, Drug Arrest - Conducting surveillance on a location where numerous complaints have been received. The officers observed a male suspect walk over to a vehicle and attempted to get in only problem was he had no keys in hand. The officers decided to investigate. The officers noticed that the suspect was nervous and kept reaching into his pockets. The officers got identification and found that the suspect had numerous drug arrests. The suspect then pulled out an eyeglass case where the officers discovered a glass pipe and methamphetamines. The officers also discovered a scale and other item that indicate that this suspect is a dealer. The suspect was arrested and booked. Report number 100022190

Jan 5 - Glen Park Canyon ,noon, Disturbing the Peace. The victim told the officer that a suspect in the park has been yelling profanities at her for no reason and that it is disturbing her. The victim provided the officer with the suspects name and a recording of the verbal abuse. Report number 100013531

Jan 1 - 100
Monterrey block theft from elderly woman - Two women approached the elderly woman taking out her trash and struck up a
conversation with her. The elderly woman elected to invite these strangers into her home to continue the conversation. While in the home, one of thewomen quietly located about $5000 dollars. After a while, the women left and the victim discovered her cash and a checkbook missing. The elderly are often targets of these types of crimes. Please remind those you know to notlet any strangers into their home under any circumstances!  Top

Holiday tip from the Captain re MUNI
: In an effort to protect the community, SFPD Public Affairs has put out an announcement warning Muni passengers using IPods and Laptops on Muni to be very careful. Suspects prey on victims using these devices knowing people are distracted. Please consider not using these devices on Muni and always be aware of your surroundings.

Holiday tips from SAFE Pickpocketing & Strong-Arm Robbery
  • Only carry a limited amount of cash and few credit cards on you.
  • Keep valuables like keys, cell phone, & money in separate pockets.
  • Stay in well-lit, well-traveled areas.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and suspicious persons, especially in parking garages, on public transportation, or in crowded places.
Auto Break-ins
  • Keep your car locked at all times; never leave your car running,even "just for a minute".
  • Do not leave anything visible in your car.
  • If you place shopping bags in your car trunk, do so before parking or move your car to a different location.
Home Burglaries
  • Keep all windows and doors locked at all times.
  • Keep wrapped gifts and valuables out of public view or away from windows where people can see them.
  • If going on vacation, have a trusted neighbor watch your house, stop your mail and newspaper deliveries, use a timed light, and an alarm if you have one.
  • Do not advertise that you are going on vacation - (such as on your voicemail or on social networking websites).
  • Consider having SAFE perform a free home security assessment.
Dec. 30 - Unit blk Brompton 5 pm Residential Burglary The victim told the officers that they left home and when they returned they discovered that someone had broken in the front door. The victim told the officers that an iPod was the only item taken. Report number 091323013

Dec. 22 - 200 blk of Congo 9:30 am, Theft from locked Vehicle- The victim told the officer that someone had entered her car and some of her items were missing. The victim stated that she parked and locked her vehicle and when she returned, the rear vent window was broken, her dashboard was damaged and her stereo was missing. There is no suspect information. Dec. 19
  1.  Unit blk of Lyell 1`:45 pm, Assault with a Knife The victim told the officers that the known suspect had threatened him and his son. The victim told the officers that it escalated when the suspect made the same threat and included the employees of his company and grabbed a knife and moved towards the victim. A third party intervened and took the knife away from the suspect. The suspect was arrested for the attack and booked. The knife was recovered by the officers. Report number 091291288
  2. 700 blk of Foerster 7 pm, Residential Burglary- The victim told the officer that his is being renovated and that this is the second time his
    house has been burglarized. The loss was over $500 worth of gardening equipment. Report number 091293767
Dec. 18 - 800 blk of Bosworth 8:28 am, Theft from Auto- The victim told the officers that she parked and locked her vehicle only to discover that someone had broken into her car and stolen her property. Officer Frisk was able to lift a fingerprint from a mug in the car that could possibly be the suspects. There is no suspect information. Report number 091286950

Dec. 17 - 300 blk of Chenery 9 pm, Purse snatch - The victim told the officers that she was standing in front of her home looking for her keys in her purse. The victim told the officers that she heard footsteps behind her. The victim told the officers that when she turned, she saw an African American suspect between the ages 16 to 18, 5’7 run up to her and snatched her purse from her hands and flee. The loss was $500 worth of cash and property. Report number 091285946  

(Safety Tip! The best practice should always be to have your house keys in hand before you get to the door, ready to use. The more time you spend in front of your door not paying attention the more time you give the would be suspect time to rob you.

Dec. 10
  1. 100 block Moffit 4:03 pm, Vandalism - The reporting party told Officer Thompson that the screen on his window had been damaged. He said that several neighbors had been seeing a black male, 5’11 170 lbs. walking around the apartment complex. It is unknown if this is the individual that caused the property damage.   2.  800 block Bosworth 5:30 pm, Suspicious Occurrence - A woman reported a suspicious occurrence. She said that she walked into the garage of her apartment building and saw an unfamiliar person tampering with the electrical meter. That person told her that he was hired by the landlord and that person stated the landlord’s name. The reporting party said that she has contacted PG&E and they will be responding out. She believes that her landlord is trying to obtain free electricity. Case number 09129327

Dec. 7 - Diamond/Bosworth 6:01 pm, Theft -The victim was reading email on his cell phone while at a bus stop when two suspects came by and snatched the phone from his hands. They then fled the area. They were described as black males, 6’00, 200 lbs (blue shirt, khakis) and 5’11, 220 lbs (dark clothing). Case number 091252779.

Dec. 5
- 600 block Holly Park 8:16 pm, Drug Arrest - Officers responded to a request to meet with the fire department. They met with the firefighters who had noticed two men acting as if they were under the influence of alcohol or drugs. One firefighter also saw one of the men drop a plastic bag containing crystal methamphetamine. The man was placed under arrest, case number 091246330.

Dec. 3
- San Jose Av/280 on Ramp, 11:22 pm -Vandalism to Vehicle. Party parked his MUNI issued pickup truck and preceded to inspect the MUNI light. The victim said that he saw someone standing near the truck and when he called out to them, they ran away. He said that when he returned to his truck, the window was broken and nothing was missing. Case number 091240116

Dec. 1
- 200 block Monterey 8:35 pm, Robbery - The victim said that she was walking down the street while talking on the phone. She then felt her purse being tugged off of her shoulder so hard that the strap broke. The victim turned around and saw a second suspect also there, who demanded her cell phone. The victim complied and the suspects fled in a white vehicle. Case number 091232759.  Top

NOVEMBER 2009 - 19 CRIMES

A number of incidents on the public bus at the Mission and 30th stop have been noted such as on Nov. 11 (including one incident where robber pulled a gun on passenger on MUNI). Be very careful when riding the public bus. Keep all home doors locked, and do not leave electronic items, money, or packages visible in cars for possible ‘smash and grab’ thefts of opportunity. Note that many thefts are taking place at or near the Diamond Hts Shopping Center not considered or reported in this Glen Park report! Many of us shop there so be alert!

Nov. 30
- San Jose/Randall 8:50 pm, Vehicle Vandalism - The victim said that she was driving when a car stopped in front of her vehicle. A passenger of the suspect vehicle got out and hit her windshield once with his hand, causing it to smash. The suspect then rode away in his vehicle. Case number 091228855.

Nov. 22
  1. 900 blk of Bosworth 5 pm, Vandalism - The victim told the officer that she left her apartment only to find that someone had broken her door upon her return. No suspect was observed. Report number 091203926.

Nov. 20
  1. Mission @ Randall 5:47 pm, Possessions of a Gun Arrest - Officers on patrol when they noticed a group of men that were standing next to a car. The officers noticed that one of the men were holding and drinking a beer as he got into the driver side of the car. The officers stopped and detained the men and immediately observed that one of the other men was holding a rifle and looked like he was loading a bullet into it.  The officers drew their guns and ordered the suspect to drop the rifle. The suspect dropped it and was taken into custody. The officers continued their investigation and discovered that the suspect that was attempting to load the rifle is on “PAROLE”. Both men were arrested and booked. Report number 091196456
  2. Mission/30th 9:15 am, Robbery/Street - Officers spoke with the victim who said he had left a store with a bag of grocery items. A suspect approached him and pushed him while taking the grocery bag out of his hand. The suspect fled the scene prior to the officers arrival.  091190737
Nov 17 - 500 blk of Chenery 8 pm, Theft from Auto - The victim told the PSA that she parked her car in front of her house and locked it. When the victim returned to her car in the morning she discovered that someone had broken a window and taken her CD player. Report number 091182900

Nov. 11
  1. 100 Block of Elk 10:48 am, Graffiti/Hate Crime at rec center . The officers observed “Nazi” related graffiti on the walls. There was no suspect information. 091162526
  2. Mission/30th 5:17 pm, Theft/Muni Bus - The victim said she was getting off the bus with her two small children. The suspect was standing in front of her also getting off the bus. He turned and offered to help her with her stroller. The suspect got off the bus and took the victim’s IPHONE from the stroller pocket and fled. 091163900
Nov. 10
  1. The SFPD has received reports of some very hateful graffiti in Glen Park. They take this crime very seriously. The Recreation and Park Department has painted over the graffiti and SFPD says they have a plan in place to capture the suspects. Please report graffitti to Officer Cal as well.
  2. 200 Arbor 10:15 am - Recovered vehicle.
Nov. 6
  1. Surrey @ Chenery 12:50 pm, Theft from Auto Arrest - Report of a person breaking into cars. The officers arrived and with the information dispatched located a possible suspect. The officers detained and called for assistance. The witness told the officer that he could identify the suspect. The victim was taken to identify the suspect, which he did positively. Another example of how the Ingleside community is working in partnership with the police. The suspect was arrested and booked for auto burglary. Report number 091148714
  2. 100 blk of Elk 9:00, Vandalism - The victim told the officer that he left work the prior night only to return and find that someone had damaged the building with graffiti the next morning.
  3. 1300 blk of Bosworth 9:30 pm, Vandalism - The victim told the officer that he parked his cars in front of his home only to discover that someone had sprayed paint on his cars. No suspects were observed. Report number 091148639
Nov. 7 - Surrey @ Chenery 12:50 pm, Theft from Auto Arrest - Officers Chang and Suslow were sent to investigate a person breaking into cars. The officers arrived and with the information dispatched located a possible suspect. The officers detained and called for assistance. Officers Naval and Morrow responded and stayed with the suspect as officer Chang went to meet the witness. The witness told the officer that he could identify the suspect. The victim was taken to identify the suspect, which he did positively. Another example of how the Ingleside community is working in partnership with the police. Nov. 6
- 200 blk of Congo 4:05 pm, Attempted theft from Auto - The victim told the PSA that he was picking up his children. He parked his car and walked to the front door. The victim was standing at the front door, when a suspect walked up to his car and cut an opening in his convertible top. The victim yelled out and the suspect ran. No loss. Report number 091146213.

Nov. 5
- 2700 blk of Diamond, 5:20 pm - Suspicious Occurrence The victim explained he observed a customer who he suspects of shoplifting, but has never been able to witness the subject in an actual shoplifting act. The victim told officers he has observed the subject in the store on several occasions, but has not observed the subject purchase any merchandise. Subject was identified. Report number 091139070

  1. 100 blk of Surrey 3 pm, Burglary - The victim told the officer that an unknown suspect made entry to the house by the back door. The suspect made off with a bag containing papers with confidential credit information. No one had permission to enter the house. Report number 091129388
  2. 800 blk of Chenery 9:30 pm, Theft from Auto -The victim told the officer that she parked her car and left her purse in view. The victim left only to discover that someone had broken her window and stolen her purse. Report number 091132159
Nov. 1
  1. Elk @ Chenery 1:10 am, Assault with Weapon - The victim told the officers that he was walking home when a group of suspects engaged him in conversation. The victim told the officers that he was just trying to get home. One of the suspects asked the victim for money. The victim just kept walking only to have the suspect throw a bottle at the victim’s head. The suspect picked up the bottle and threw it a second time at the victim. The suspects then fled.   2. 100 blk of Bosworth 7:30 pm, Theft - The victim told the officer that he observed the suspect walk into the store take a beer and candy, then walked out and got into a waiting car and fled. Report number 091127423.  Top

Sept. 10 - 2500 Block of Diamond St. 9:17 am Theft/Registration Tab stolen Case #090931885

Sept 9
- Wilder and Arlington 4:41 pm. Drug arrest, narcotics investigation. The officers were able to locate a subject that was on probation and with a search condition. When the officers located the subject they found that he was in possession of narcotics, thus violating his probation and sending him back to jail. Arrest made. Report number 090922367

Sept 5
- 300 block of Arbor 5pm. Theft from Vehicle. The victim parked and locked his car only to find some criminal had broken into the car and stolen property. The suspect made off with some personal items and cash.

(Safety Tip: Never leave any coins or cash in your vehicles) Report number 090916956

Sept. 2
- Bosworth/Chilton 8:59 pm Purse Snatch. The victim said that she was walking on the sidewalk when she felt her purse being pulled off of her shoulder from behind. The suspect then fled the scene with the purse, which contained a drivers license, keys, cash, and credit cards. Case number 090900987.

Near Glen Park:

We've noted an increase in incidents in outlying near Glen Park areas, many up at Diamond Hts. at the shopping center, and also on buses. Be cautious walking or shopping in these areas, and taking public buses, especially after dark. Note such nearby incidents such as:

Sept 18
- McClaren Park 5 am.  Attempted Robbery/Aggravated Assault The victim was walking in the park when he was approached by a suspect who asked him what he had. When the victim stated he did not have anything he saw the suspect raise his arm, heard a gunshot, and realized he had been shot. The victim drove himself home then had a family member drive him to the hospital. Case #090958259


Sept 15
  1. Mission and Silver 11:43 pm. Carrying weapon -Officers were sent to investigate a suspicious man in an area that has been plagued with street robberies. Search on bus yielded a gun.
  2. Mission and Silver. 2:44 pm. Investigation of a stabbing at this location. The officer located a subject and detained him for investigation. The investigation was for a stabbing where a composite drawing of the suspect was made. This subject was identified and the information sent to the inspectors for follow-up. Report number 090900636
Sept 9
  1. Silver and Mission 8:14 pm. Pickpocket victim had her backpack on her shoulder on the crowded bus. The victim told the officer that the phone was on the outside pocket of the backpack. The victim did not see or feel anyone remove her phone. (Safety Tip: When on a crowed bus, always place your backpack in front of you. If you can put the backpack on and wear your jacket over it zipped up) report number 090923252
  2. McLaren Park 3:40 pm. Theft from person, victim was at the park playing with her children and placed her purse on a bench. The victim did not notice when two young people took the stolen items out of her purse. (Safety Tip: While at the park carry small items in a pant pocket (keys/cash). Avoid bringing purses). Sept. 3 - 5700 block Diamond Heights Blvd 4:44 pm. Burglary a residential burglary. Victim's passport, laptop, money, and camera were stolen, case 090903953.

Sept. 2
- 5200 block Diamond Heights 7:25 pm. Burglary: The victim said that he returned home from work to find that someone had stolen a laptop, bicycle, video games, and coins from his residence. The victim said that he locked the door to his apartment when he left and it was locked when he returned. Case number 090900802.

JUNE 2009 - 4 CRIMES
June 5
  1. Circular Ave./Baden St. 1:30 am - Robbery with Force. Officers Baldovino and Otaguro responded to a robbery. They contacted the victim, who stated he  was walking home from the Glen Park BART when a car drove onto the sidewalk in front of the victim. The driver then got out and began assaulting him. The suspect took the victim's backpack and fled the scene. The victim was treated at SFGH for non life threatening injuries. Case # 090577661.
  2. Dolores St./30th St. 2: 55 pm - Robbery with Force While patrolling this area, Officers Altamirano and Thompson were approached by a witness of a robbery. They were led to the victim, who stated she was riding the J-Church line bus when she was approached by a male suspect. The suspect forcibly removed her I-Phone from her hand and ran off with several other subjects. All of the suspects were located in the immediate area and taken into custody. Case # 090575712.
  3. Monterey Blvd./Congo St. 2:45 pm - Driving Without License Officer Daggett witnessed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. She stopped the vehicle and determined the driver's license was suspended. Officer Daggett issued the driver a citation for both violations and had the vehicle towed. Case # 090576782.
June 3 - Capt. Lazar announces Sergeant Scott Heidorhn is the liaison to Diamond Heights/Glen Park. Also Lieutenant Cherniss will be leading a Pedestrian Sting Operation on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 beginning at 2:30 p.m. We will be focusing on Cortland Avenue and at various locations throughout the Ingleside District. We will announce these locations in future newsletters.
  1. 100 block Laidley St. 8:44 pm Theft from Vehicle Officer Ng prepared a report of theft from a locked vehicle. Case # 090569464
June 2 - Chenery St./Miguel St. 9:51 pm Driving with Suspended License Officer Ng witnessed a vehicle with tinted windows. After making a traffic stop on the vehicle, Officer Ng determined the driver had a suspended license. Officer Ng issued the driver a citation for the violations and had the vehicle towed. Case # 090565973.June 1 - First block of Laidley 3:02 pm Warrant Arrest Officers Hurwitz and Dagget were patrolling the area when they contacted an individual with a warrant. The subject was detained and later placed under arrest for the warrant. Case #090555134 3:13pm Aggravated Assault/Police Officer Related to the above incident: Officers Hurwitz and Dagget were involved in the above investigation when another vehicle pulled up. Officer Hurwitz approached the vehicle and the driver was told to turn off the engine. The driver turned the vehicle in the direction of Officer Hurwitz and nearly ran her over. The vehicle fled the scene as officers were called to assist. Case #090555140  Top

MAY 2009 - 17 CRIMES
May 24
  1. 1900 Diamond 12:10 am - Warrant Arrest Officer Coles responded to a call, from a concerned citizen, of a subject breaking into a mobile home. The subject was not breaking in but repairing a damaged window on the mobile home. The subject, however, had two outstanding warrants. Case #070488771.
  2. Mission/Bosworth 1:47 am - Robbery. Victim was walking in the area when an unknown male subject walking past her attempted to remove her purse. Case#090536407.
May 22 - From the captain: 'We are increasing our visibility with Operation Safe Neighborhood in the Glen Park and Visitation Valley area. Officers assigned to Glen Park in the afternoons are now parking and walking in the area of Diamond between Chenery and Bosworth. You will also see increased foot patrol coverage on Leland.'Date?
  1. Lippard/Bosworth 4:55 pm - Theft. Victim stated she returned to her locked vehicle and noticed the car's stereo was missing. Case #090531695.

May 20 - 100 block of Bemis 7:02 pm - Burglary. Victim returned home and found his computer missing. Subject possibly used an unlocked window to enter the premise. Case#090521787.

May 18
  1. "Outstanding Stun Gun Robbery Arrest! The stun gun robberies first appeared last Thursday night in Glen Park. The suspects then robbed and stunned individuals in the Excelsior and Bernal Heights over the weekend and were captured by Ingleside Station plainclothes officers Chan and Brown at Felton and Bowdoin!'
  2. Mission/Bosworth midnight - Unlicensed Driver Officer Chan stopped a driver that sped through a red light. Driver, who did not have a license, was cited and vehicle was towed. Case#090511114.
  3. San Jose Ave/280 Overpass Robbery 52 min. after midnight - Officer Almaguer and Hom responded to robbery with a gun. Victim stated she and her friends were surrounded by three subjects. One of the subjects grabbed her purse and kicked victim in the stomach. Subject was trying to hold on to her  purse, so same subject pulled out a handgun and held it to the victim’s head. Officer’s put out a description of the vehicle used to flee the scene. Taraval officers located the vehicle and subjects involved. Subjects were arrested. Case#090511415.
May 13 - 9 pm man stun gunned 11 times.

May 11
  1. 200 block of Surrey 10:30am - Recovered Stolen Vehicle;

May 6
- 900 block of Chenery 10:05 pm -Theft. Victim walked into Ingleside Station to report that her vehicle's window was shattered and her iPod, digital camera, and wallet were stolen. PSA Knuckles prepared a report. Case#090470178.

May 1
- 30th Church St 3:30 am - Warrant Arrest. Officer Brown and Officer Marin responded to the area on a report of a suspicious person looking into vehicle windows. Officers located the subject and during their investigation discovered the subject was wanted for two outstanding warrants. Subject was arrested. Case #090453613.  Top

APRIL 2009 - 14 CRIMES
April 29 -
200 block Chenery St. 10:09 pm - Burglary Officer Brown and Officer Marin investigated and prepared a report regarding a burglary of a Laundromat. The washing machines were pried open and coins were stolen from inside. Loss is approximately $300.00 in quarters. No suspect information at this time. Case #090448567.

April 16-26
- Captain O’Leary is transferred to another district, and daily reports cease from April 16 to April 26, during transition to Captain Lazar

April 16
- 2200 block of Castro St. 5:40 pm - Burglary. Occurred between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Unlawful entry via unlocked back door. Computers, camera, and media player taken.

April 13
  1. 900 block of Chenery St 9:15 am.- Warrant Service. Officer Najarro located an illegal camper inside Glen Canyon and questioned the 34 year old man. The man ran from Officer Najarro and hid in a backyard on the 900 block of Chenery Street. Officers surrounded the yard and the man surrendered. He was wanted on three local warrants with a bail in excess of $150,000. A charge of resisting arrest was added and the camper was booked into the County Jail. Case 090374649
  2. 2500 block of Diamond St:  Fraud: victim lost her checkbook and a suspect attempted to pass one of the lost checks at a local business

April 7
  1. 6:54 am Chenery & Castro Streets Robbery - A 74 year old Glen Park - woman was followed after using an ATM at Bosworth and Diamond Streets. On the 500 block of Chenery Street a robber grabbed her purse from her shoulder and made off with it. He ran to a red car and it drove away. Another robbery involving the same car and suspects occurred later near the Stonestown Mall. Taraval Station officers stopped the car on 19th Avenue. The victim from Glen Park and another  victim from 23rd and Noe Streets were brought to 19th Avenue to view the suspects. Three men from Richmond, CA were arrested on three counts of robbery.   2. Glen Canyon 12?35 pm - Possession of Narcotics. Officer Walsh responded on the call of a man exposing himself inside the park. He found the man, a 39 year old Pleasanton, CA resident, in the park. The man ran from Officer Walsh. Officer Gonzalez found the man running on Chenery Street and gave chase. The good officers caught the man nearby and arrested him for delaying their investigation. The man gave a false name but his true identity was determined. The man was charged with possession of methamphetamine, delaying an investigation, giving a false name, and an Alameda County misdemeanor warrant. As no witnesses  to the indecent exposure were found, the man was not charged with that offense.  Case 090359663

  5. 600 block of Congo St. - Auto burglary: video of suspect provided to police. Suspect described as a dark skinned male, 18 to 25 years old, wearing a gray beanie, dark jacket with a whit e hooded sweatshirt, and dark pants.
April 6 - 500 Block of Chenery between 8:30 pm and 4:50 am April 7 - Burglary. Occurred between 8:30 p.m. on April 6th and 4:30 a.m. on April 7th. A bakery worker called the police when he found the front door of the business forced open. Officers searched the building but did not find anything amiss. No loss reported.April 2 - Mangels Ave. & Congo St. - Stolen license plate

March 21 - 100 block of Addison St.  3:45 pm - Threats. Three people sitting in a double parked car were threatened by a man brandishing a handgun. He was described as a black male in his early 20's, 6'2" tall, 230 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, wearing a gray and black striped sweatshirt and blue jeans. The man fled in a gold 1990 Honda Accord.

March 20
  1. Bosworth & Rousseau Streets 11:45 pm - Robbery. A 50-year old Mission Terrace woman came to Ingleside Station on March 23rd to report that she had been robbed on March 20th. The woman said that she walking on Bosworth Street when she was approached by three Hispanic men, one of whom knocked her to the ground. The woman said that she was knocked unconscious and awoke two hours later in a construction site. Her cell phone and keys were missing.
  2. 200 block of Addison St. - Battery: suspect named. Victim's car stolen after first crime: '03 Honda Accord
  3. Arlington St. - '02 Lexus ES300 recovered.

  1. 30th & Mission Streets - Aided case: a 72 year old Mission District woman was knocked to the ground by passerby, she was taken to SFGH.
  2. First block of Surrey St.- '95 Acura Legend stolen
March 9 - 400 block of 30th St.  7:30 pm. Burglary. Occurred between March 8th and March 9th. Unlawful entry to garage. Bicycle and diaper bag taken.

March 8
- First block of Addison St.  11:30 pm - Possession of Narcotics. Officer Mourgos and Officer Carrasco investigated suspicious activity inside a parked car and arrested a 50 year old Glen Park man and a 29 year old San Jose woman for possessing heroin and syringes. Case 090247472

March 6
- 300 block of Addison St. noon. Burglary .Occurred between 10:30 p.m. March 5, and 6 a.m. March 6. Forced entry to church's bathroom. Soap dispenser taken.

March 5
  1. Chenery & Elk Streets 11 pm -   Possession of Narcotics. A resident called the police to report that a man with a flashlight was peering into neighbors' driveways.  Officer Pereira and Officer Fung found the man nearby and arrested him for possessing methamphetamine. The 31 year old Tenderloin District resident was booked into the County Jail. Case 090221874

March 3 - 100 block of Sussex - Member of Glen Park patrol steering committee had front passenger door window was smashed an GPS device were taken from glove box. Perps did not take spare change. "Having a GPS device holder mounted on the windshield is simply an invitation for theft. My better instincts told me not to let him keep it there, but I did not take action.  Also, someone cut a rare and exotic plant from our front yard. The incision and choice of plant was too perfect to have been done by a very young person. Months ago, another neighbor had her window smashed for the purpose of stealing a cheap pair of sunglasses that were sitting on her passenger seat."  Top
FEBRUARY 2009 - 15 CRIMES
Feb. 25 - Hearst Ave. & Congo St. 11:40 pm - Robbery - A 36 year old Sunnyside District woman was parking her car at 10 p.m. on February 25th when a robber struck her in the head. She awoke in a hospital and Ingleside Station officers interviewed her there. At that time she did not know what had occurred. The woman later stated that she had been robbed of her purse and its contents.

Feb. 23
  1. 300 block of Arlington St. - Auto burglary
  2. 2400 block of Diamond St. - '91 Saab 900S stolen
  3. Diamond & Bosworth Streets - 52 year old Tenderloin District man admonished for soliciting near ATM and cited for possessing crack pipe.   Case  090184874
  4. 500 block of Arlington St. 2 pm -   Burglary. Occurred between January 10th and February 19th. No forced entry found, suspects may have used a key.  Bedding taken.
  5. 400 block of Arlington, member of Glen Park Patrol Steering Committee's car was vandalized for second time in two months.
Feb. 18 - McLaren Park (top of Miguel street on Diamond near Diamond Hts. Shopping Center)   2:15 pm  - Robbery.  Six teens playing with BB guns near the park's water tower were robbed at gunpoint by four robbers who fled with the victims' belongings.

Feb 17
  1. First block of Chenery St. - '96 Saturn SL stolen
  2.  First block of Chenery St. 3:15 pm - Burglary. Occurred between February 17th and February 18th. No forced entry found. Computer and monitor taken from school.

Jan 29

  1. 100 block of Randall St., 5:06 pm - Burglary. A resident heard his building's front door open and close and investigated. He confronted a stranger taking a bicycle from his garage. The stranger took a suitcase from the garage and fled. The resident gave chase and neighbors took up the pursuit.  The burglar boarded a MUNI bus on Mission Street where Officer Suslow and posse arrested him. The thief, a 51 year old Potrero Hill man, was charged with burglary.  Case 090094944

Jan. 26 - ADVISORY FROM POLICE: Ingleside Police District had enjoyed a fifty percent drop in car thefts during the last months of 2008. Today's report shows an increase in thefts, particularly Honda Accords from the mid-90's. If you own such a car, consider garaging it.

  1. 100 block of Arbor St. 10 pm - Burglary - A woman returned to her home and found a window screen cut and saw a light go on in the house.  She knew that there should be no one in the house and so she called the police. The house was searched to no avail.
  2. 100 block of Everson St. 11 am to 5 pm 6 - Burglary .Entry via outer door. Computers, telescopes, binoculars, and jewelry taken.

Jan. 22 - 2900 block of Diamond St. 3:10 pm - Robbery. A 32 year old Noe Valley man had his cell phone and ear pods snatched from his hands as he exited a MUNI bus. He fought for control of the items only to have the robber's accomplice knock him to the ground. The robbers were described as black males in their late teens wearing dark baggy clothing. The pair split up after the crime, one fleeing north on Diamond Street, the other running south.

Jan 20

  1. 100 block of Lippard Ave. -  Disturbing the peace
  2. Around 30 Arbor Circle this date - Car break-in in front of house. Car couldn't be stolen because it had a club like device on the clutch which is not visible from outside the car; however they damaged that device and a locksmith had to cut it off.

Jan. 15

  1. Bemis and Roanoke - hit and run traffic, no injuries
  2. At Miguel and Arlington after 10:30 pm sometime, car window smashed.  Neighbor reports this happens routinely every day or so.

DECEMBER 2008 - 17 CRIMES

Dec. 31 - About 5 pm three men were witnessed by a homeowner, attacking a woman on the sidewalk outside. The woman screamed loudly and apparently struggled not to be robbed or attacked. The attackers ran away and the victim walked on before the homeowner could come out to assist or get more details. This incident has not appeared on the form SFPD crime list.

Dec. 30

  1. The evening before two neighbors noted new graffiti on a garbage can behind Buddies' Market (which will soon be painted out). About 3 pm on this day three apparently homeless individuals distracted Jennie Park at Buddies' Market while the others put a number of grocery items under coats and attempted to walk out without paying. One neighbor caught them before they exited the market and made them return it!
  2. During the night, someone broke one of the picture glass windows at Glen Park Cleaners; owners remain unable to remove graffiti done about three months ago with acid, etching marks into both the newly broken glass and the other picture window.

  1. First block of Moffit St.9 am - Shots Fired - Officer Massey investigated an incident involving damage to a home from shots fired and determined that the event occurred at about 2:30 am. He confronted a neighbor on the 100 block of Addison Street but the man denied any involvement.
  2. 100 block of Arbor St. - Battery: suspect unknown
  3. 100 block of Bosworth St. - Fraud: check cashing scheme.

Dec. 11 - 100 block Joost Ave. -  '88 Toyota recovered

Dec. 9

  1. First block of Natick St., 1 to 9 am, Attempted burglary. Damage found to exterior lock of gate to home.
  2. First block of Lippard Ave. - '87 Toyota recovered

Dec. 5

  1. First block of Joost St. 5 pm - 6 am and 4 pm Burglary - Forced entry via kitchen window. DVD player, jewelry, and blank checks taken.
  2. 400 block of Bosworth St. - 5:30 pm - Attempted burglary - Occurred between 6 am & 3 pm. Perpetrator gained entry to home's garage and attempted to kick in interior door. Damage found to exterior screen, too.

Dec. 2 - 300 block of Arbor St.- 27 year old Glen Park man arrested on warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.  Top

Nov. 22 at 3:22 pm in broad daylight, a young woman ripped a cell phone out of the hands of a lady standing at the bus stop at Diamond and Chenery and ran off with her accomplice.

Nov. 17 Monday - About 7:48 p.m. There was an explosion in the garage area of 108 Congo Street. Federal and state police are investigating and found contraband, mj, and fireworks.

Nov. 15

  1. Saturday 700 block of Chenery St - Theft: bicycle
  2. 100 block of Mangels Ave. - Fraud: theft by false pretenses

 Nov. 14

  1. Friday 200 block of Arlington St. 6:40 pm - Possession of Narcotics. Police questioned a known criminal and associate; car was searched, both people were arrested for possession of methamphetamine. The 25 year old man's home was searched and more contraband was seized. His associate, a 24 year old Southern Heights woman, and he were booked on numerous charges.
  2. Monterrey at Baden, about 1 am, man robbed. (reported by neighbor)

Nov. 12 - Weds. Circular & Joost Avenues 4:30 am - Sunnyside man walking to BART was robbed of belongings by three men; gun used.Nov. 6  - A man on a bike was attacked and pistol whipped about 2:55 am on Monterrey at Baden  Top

OCTOBER 2008 - 12 CRIMES

Oct. 28 - At 4:15 pm at Surrey and Van Buren Streets a 24-year old woman was pushed to the ground and struck by two men who took her purse and book bag.

Oct. 27th - At 5 pm at Diamond and Sussex, a 54-yr old woman was robbed by two young women and struck in the head when she struggled for her purse.

Oct. 12 - At about 11 pm a man on the bench at the bus stop by Glen Park Cleaners was beaten up and his wallet stolen by three young men. Police apparently responded but there is no crime report.A few weeks before that, about 8 pm a homeless man sitting outside of La Corneta was apparently attacked.  Police were seen responding, but there is no crime report.  Our Village was tagged with graffiti eight times overnight about Oct. 10.  Top
